Experience Whole-Person Healing
I take an integrative approach to treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma related disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, psycho-oncologic and end of life issues. I have special training and expertise in treating mental health issues relating to pregnancy/postpartum, perimenopause and PMDD. I also have training in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches, including psychoanalytic, Jungian, mindfulness-based, and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.
I completed medical school at the University of California, San Diego, and residency at the University of California, San Francisco. Prior to starting medical school, I completed a master’s degree in religious studies, focused on Buddhist studies. My last name was previously Hagstrom.
While medications can often be very helpful for a range of issues, they are not always necessary and rarely the whole solution. When working with you, I may recommend some or all of the following interventions to help you achieve optimal health:
• Evidence based medication treatment
• Interventions to ensure restful, restorative sleep
• Evaluating and addressing any medical and or hormonal issues that may be impacting your mental and emotional health
• Assessing nutrition, exercise, substance use, work habits, family, and relationships
• Considering a potential role for psychotherapy
• Alternative and complementary therapies, such as evidence-based supplements, mindfulness or other contemplative practices, acupuncture or other energetic treatments, osteopathy, nature therapy, etc.
